Whether you’re a seasoned angler or it’s your first time offshore, our goal is simple: work hard, fish harder, and make sure every trip is one to remember.
Come fish with us and see what the Down N Dirty crew is all about.

What We Do
OUR CHARTERS
🎣
Offshore Tuna, Mahi, Swordfish & Tilefish
This is what we do. Full days offshore chasing some of the hardest-fighting fish in the ocean. We focus on jigging and casting—jigs, poppers, and stick baits—but we’re not one-dimensional. If trolling is the best way to stay on the bite, we’re ready to switch it up and keep rods bent. From school fish to giant bluefin, we target it all—bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, mahi mahi, swordfish, and tilefish. Whether it’s a day trip for tuna and mahi or a canyon run or an overnighter, we’ll put in the time and make the moves to give you the best shot at a serious catch. Our Contender 39ST is built for speed and efficiency, getting us offshore quickly and safely—less travel time, more time fishing.
🐟
Trophy Ocean Striped Bass
This is big fish only—no shortcuts. These trips are dedicated to targeting true “wall hanger” striped bass in the 35- to 50+ pound class. We fish a different game out here. Big wood plugs, live eels on planer boards, and a dialed-in approach focused on hunting trophies—not numbers. It’s not always easy, but when it happens, it’s the kind of bite you’ll never forget. If you’re looking for the chance at that fish of a lifetime—this is it.
Raritan Bay Striped Bass
Every spring, we bring F/V Down N Dirty north to chase striped bass in Raritan Bay. From April 1 through mid-May, the bay can be stacked with everything from schoolie bass to trophy-class fish. We fish the way the bite demands—casting soft plastics, working plugs, or fishing live bait. This is some of the best spring striped bass fishing New Jersey has to offer.
🦈
Thresher Shark Trips
This is a short window, high-action fishery we look forward to every year. From late May through mid-June, thresher sharks show up in numbers and bring serious excitement. These trips are close to shore but far from easy. Threshers are known for violent strikes and insane aerial displays. Once hooked, it’s chaos in the best way possible—usually ending in a heart-pounding finish. And yeah—watch out for that tail! Back at the dock, it’s photos, high fives, and fresh fillets. Thresher shark is some of the best eating fish out there.

Meet The Captain
Eddie Brown
Captain Eddie Brown has been fishing the waters off New Jersey his entire life. A true tuna junkie, he thrives on sharing that passion with others.
That drive has taken him from his home waters in New Jersey to running trips out of Venice, Louisiana during the winter and early spring—chasing giant tuna—before returning north to target trophy striped bass and tuna.
From the moment he first stepped on a boat, Eddie was hooked. Years of fishing alongside some of the best captains and crews in the country have shaped his approach—learning what works, what doesn’t, and what it takes to deliver a top-tier experience on the water.
Preparation, consistency, and effort are at the core of everything we do. Captain Eddie and his crew are ready for whatever the day brings, always focused on putting you in the best possible position—not just to hook the fish of a lifetime, but to land it.
That level of dedication has produced real results, including guiding an angler to a Louisiana state record yellowfin tuna earlier this year.
